About the name:
The story of Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travelers. It is told that in the third century he was a pagan named Christopher of great stature. It meant him to search for the most capable master in the world to put himself at his service. It was said to him: The Greatest Master in the world is the King of kings, Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, but Saint Christopher was not aware of this Great God. On one of the holidays, when the joy in the king's court had reached its climax, one of the musicians signed on his instrument a tune praising the devil. Christopher saw the king hissing in terror, so he said the devil must be stronger than the king. And he went to join his soldiers. And one day Satan was forced to pass in front of a cross erected at the edge of the road, so he shivered in fear and turned away from him in a cowardly way.
Christopher said to himself: This crucified man is stronger than Satan. Kneeling at the feet of a monk, He asked, “My Father, how can I serve this crucified one?” The monk replied, “With a lot of prayer.” Christopher confessed, “I do not know how to pray.” The monk said, “Then fast.” Christopher answered, “How can I fast and have such a body that requires a lot of food?” The monk said, “Then stand here at the river, and if anyone wants to cross it, carry him on your shoulders, for this work is completely in accordance with your size.”
Thus, for many years Christopher carried on his shoulders whoever wanted to cross the river, until one day a small child came to him and asked him to carry him to the opposite side. So he happily lifted him to his shoulder and entered the water to cross it, and then he felt the weight of a burden he had never known before. As soon as he reached the middle of the river, he almost despaired of reaching the other bank. And when he was able to reach the other side, he lowered the child and said to him, panting, “How great is your weight, my friend, I thought I was carrying the whole earth on my shoulders.” And the Child answered with the sound of the bells ringing, “No wonder, for you have carried on your shoulder the Creator of the whole world.”
Saint Christopher became one of the most popular patron saints of the travelers. We pray that he may protect the products being shipped to our customers and that through his intercessions this store may be for the Glory of God’s name.
